Giacosa eventually sold this parcel after a series of wines that did not meet his exacting standards and were never released

despite its concentration and abundant

this is an excellent wine with outstanding development potential as it has the density to eventually absorb the prominent oak treatment but it’s enough to be annoyingly intrusive today

perhaps 5 more years in the bottle should allow the wine to soften and develop its aromatics

this will be a fun wine to track

A strikingly complex and impressively pure nose of earthy red pinot fruit with animale hints and ample spice notes dissolves seamlessly into dusty and moderately concentrated flavors that like the RSV exude a finely wrought sense of poise and harmony on the impeccably well-balanced and explosive finish

but that allows the more savoury taste of an older wine to balance the creamy richness of the body

the Bien Nacido has so much going on
