Description
Maison Joseph Faiveley, Chambolle Musigny Beaux Bruns Vintage:2017Mild reduction is enough to render the nose difficult to read. By contrast there is both good freshness and vibrancy to the sleek and focused middle weight flavors that possess good mid palate concentration, all wrapped in a firm, serious and mildly austere finale. As is usually the case with Beaux Bruns this is not an elegant Chambolle but rather one of muscle and punch. (89 92) 2024+
minerally piquant yet balanced and complex palate with a lingering salinity and a fresh and grippy finish
Glass-staining purple
While the medium weight flavors do not have the same size and power of the Clos des Chênes
But it will probably be the one that will require longer in bottle to show all the potential
50% Chardonnay
sweet and energetic on the penetrating finish
Background notes of wood are discernible but stop short of being invasive as they still allow the restrained
A hint of reduction is going to need time in bottle to dissipate
This may ultimately come together but as with the Cazetiers and Clos de Vougeot
(88-90)/2023+
tense Barolo
licorice and tobacco aromas and flavors
